In an attempt to help medium and small businesses during the COVID-19 crisis Google has launched a program where they grant free credits for Google Ads. Google has dedicated a sum of US$340 million in ad credits for SME customers worldwide. These credits can be used be used towards future ad spend until the end of 2020 across Google Ads platforms.

Can your business utilise the free Google Ads credits?

To be eligible for these credits you must be:

  • A SME Business
  • Active anywhere in the world
  • Have spent with a Google Ads account ten out of twelve months of 2019 and in January and/or February of this year.

*Your Google Ads account may have been advertised directly with Google or through a partner and must adhere to Google’s advertising policies.

What about Facebook ads?

As you might have heard, Facebook has also launched a similar program as to Google. However, as for now these credits are only available in limited areas within the US. But Facebook is looking to further their project and are therefore working to make their credits available in other parts of the world. Facebook has created an email list where SMEs can sign up to stay updated on any changes in their area.

Seeking support elsewhere

If you find that your business is not eligible for any of these credits, fear not! The Australian Government has many Grants and Programs for virtually every industry out there. There are grants you can apply for to put towards your Digital Marketing spend.
